Abstract
The author recapitulates his Survey-trip to Nanda Devi Sanctuary as a Scientist –member in a Reccee cum Scientific Expedition-1974. In the Outer Sanctuary, the plants are common, which are found anywhere in the region. However, in the Inner Sanctuary many plants common in the Outer Sanctuary, were not recorded inside because the plants could not cross the height of 20.000 ft. The journey was tough. The most commonly cultivated plants like; Fagopyrum esculentum, Amaranthus caudatus, which are of much nutritional value and the wild growing plant Betula utilis are described with their economic utility. Two interesting phenomenon's, related to plants' physiology which were observed inside the Sanctuary are described.
